In your opinion does the first person POV harm some writing?

I don't personally think so, I mean look at Twilight and Maximum Ride, those are both first person POV and they are/were on the list of bestsellers, made into movies (MR is about to be), and they are both in my fav books category. So no I dont think that a 1st person POV ruins a story, in fact it helps you see the main character more clearly
