What does this letter mean from this friend/girl I dated??!?!?

Her is what she said in response to me saying that she is playing games..." I just want you to know that you have been one of very few men that have come along in my life and made me feel like you saw the true me, who I am inside, who I want to be, and what I am truly worth beyond the superficial, and for that I am so glad you are my friend, as well as have an undying respect for you. I really do care for as the wonderful person you are, and being around you only makes me want to be a better person. Its hard for people to understand me, and why I am so closed off, I have just been through so much in my life, some of which I have shared with you, and more that I have not yet been strong enough to tell anyone. About your birthday, I am so sorry, I knew it was coming and I kept reminding myself, and threer really in no excuse, but beyween work, school, watching and raising my nephews, I let the time and days slip away from me.
