Should I break the XBox 360 Warranty seal?

I have 2 xbox 360s an old one which crapped out on me in 6 months, I called microsoft about fixing it and they said. Since I got the 2 year warranty from Wal-Mart I should contact them. So, I did. The Wal-Mart care people told me that warranty doesn't start until after the manufacturer's runs out. So I called Microsoft back and they said I've already called in about the problem and it's pre-existing so they can't help me. Obviously I escalated they then told me that my dvd drive's laser failure and also the disk tray failing to open at random times was user error and they couldn't help me. Well I had bought another one that I am currently using that has the HDMI port. I want to case mod (as well as clean the dust out) should I just break the seal? I am computer savvy and can fix RROD if that occurs....I don't think microsoft's help would do anything if this one **cks up. So why have the seal? That's my current opinion....
